Common problems on existing installations
Typical issues include missing pipe sections, uncovered valves and flanges, damaged insulation, deteriorated cladding and insulation removed for servicing but never reinstated. On cold systems, damaged vapour barriers and incomplete coverage also need attention.
The right response depends on the condition of the installation. Some systems need targeted repairs; others need more extensive renewal. We review the visible condition, discuss the operating requirements and agree a practical scope before work starts.
Practical insulation condition assessments
Lagforce can carry out an on-site review to identify visible gaps in insulation coverage and areas needing repair. We can then recommend replacement insulation, renewed protective cladding and suitable removable covers. This is a practical condition assessment rather than a certified energy audit.
Where moisture, corrosion or another underlying problem is suspected, the relevant issue needs to be addressed before new insulation is applied. Renewing the outer finish alone should not conceal a problem beneath it.
Repairs and upgrades we carry out
Work can include replacement pipework insulation, reinstatement after mechanical maintenance, renewal of aluminium cladding and installation of removable valve jackets around exposed fittings. We also undertake wider plant room insulation refurbishment.
Materials and finishes are selected for the operating conditions and agreed specification. We discuss access and programme requirements with the site team, including any areas that require shutdown arrangements or coordination with other maintenance works.
Reduce avoidable energy loss
Restoring insulation on hot services helps limit unwanted heat loss. Renewing a suitable insulation system on cold services helps control heat gain and condensation. The benefit depends on operating temperatures, hours of use, exposed areas and the existing condition.
We focus on the physical improvements needed at your site. A stated percentage saving or payback period requires installation-specific information and calculations; it should not be assumed from a photograph or a general rule.

Email the site location, the type of system and photographs showing the areas of concern. Include operating temperatures, approximate quantities, available specifications and your preferred programme where known. Wide photographs and close-ups are both helpful.
Do we need to replace everything?
Not necessarily. Where existing insulation remains suitable and in good condition, targeted repairs may be appropriate. We agree the scope after reviewing the installation.
