Insulation & Cladding Materials We Install

These are the insulation and cladding materials Lagforce installs on industrial and commercial projects across Ireland. We work to the project specification, so if a consultant or mechanical contractor has named a particular product, we install that product. Where the choice is open, we can advise on the right material for the service temperature, location and finish required.

Each section links to the manufacturer’s own website, where the current product data sheets are published. Manufacturers update their data sheets regularly, so the manufacturer’s site is always the most reliable source for thermal conductivity, temperature limits and fire performance.

Mineral wool pipe sections

Foil-faced mineral wool pipe sections are our standard choice for heating, domestic hot water and general mechanical services pipework. Sections are fitted with sealed longitudinal and circumferential joints, and finished with metal cladding where the pipework needs protection.

Ductwrap, lamella mat and wired mat

Mineral wool mats and wraps cover ductwork, large-diameter pipework, vessels, tanks and equipment where pipe sections are not practical.

  • Ductwrap (Isover, Knauf Insulation and Rockwool) – foil-faced thermal insulation for HVAC supply and extract ductwork.
  • Lamella mat – mineral wool mat with the fibres running at right angles to the surface, so it holds its thickness on large pipes, vessels and ductwork and takes cladding well.
  • Wired mat – mineral wool mat stitched to galvanised or stainless wire mesh, used on hot pipework, vessels, boilers, flue and process equipment.

Phenolic pipe insulation

Phenolic foam has a low thermal conductivity, so it reaches the required performance with a thinner wall than many other materials. That makes it a good choice in plant rooms, risers and ceiling voids where space is tight, on both chilled and heating services.

Nitrile rubber insulation

Armaflex closed-cell elastomeric insulation is used on chilled water, refrigeration and cooling pipework, where its built-in resistance to water vapour helps prevent condensation and corrosion under the insulation. Armacell (Armaflex)

Thermobreak

Thermobreak is a closed-cell, cross-linked polyolefin foam with a bonded foil facing, used on ductwork and pipework where low moisture uptake and a clean finish are needed. Thermobreak products

Cellular glass (Foamglas)

Foamglas cellular glass is rigid, non-combustible and impervious to water and vapour. We use it on services that need a long-life, moisture-proof insulation, such as low-temperature process lines, buried or external services and load-bearing pipe supports. Foamglas

Metal cladding

Our protective cladding is fabricated in our own fabrication workshop and fitted on site, covering pipe runs, bends, tees, vessel ends and ductwork.

  • Aluminium sheet in plain and stucco embossed finishes – the standard protective finish for insulated pipework, vessels and external ductwork.
  • Stainless steel sheet – for food, dairy, brewing, distilling, pharmaceutical and clean-room areas, and anywhere a durable, cleanable or more corrosion-resistant finish is required.

The sheet grade, thickness and finish are confirmed to suit the project specification. See aluminium cladding and stainless steel cladding for more on our cladding work.

Isogenopak jacketing

Isogenopak is a rigid jacketing used as a protective, cleanable finish over pipe insulation in internal areas, with pre-formed bends and fittings available. Isogenopak (Klöckner Pentaplast)

Removable valve and flange jackets

Valves, flanges and strainers are insulated with removable jackets so they can be opened for maintenance and refitted. See removable valve and flange covers.

Data sheets and project documentation

On request, we supply the manufacturer data sheets for the products installed on your project, for submittals, O&M manuals and handover files. If your specification names particular products, send it with your enquiry and we will price and install to it.
